Luna Lucci: For me, every gig is lovely because I just love to share my tracks, vibes and DJing with a crowd.
We are thrilled to welcome Belgian DJ and producer Luna Lucci to Rave Me Hard!

The Belgian DJ and producer Luna Lucci is known for her strong and engaging techno that
focuses on straightforward construction and recognizable tunes. Luna started DJ’ing in 2015, when she was 17, in an all-round commercial style, but experimented in the studio and refined her musical taste throughout the years. Her explosive techno tracks and carefully composed DJ sets are notorious for setting the room on fire.

In this interview, she shares insights into her musical journey, her releases, and what’s next for her career. Enjoy!

RMH:
Welcome to Rave Me Hard! We are glad to be chatting with you.
Your new track "Embrace" is set to release on Rave Me Hard. Can you tell us what inspired this track and how it reflects your growth as an artist?
LUNA LUCCI:
Thanks a lot! Actually, there was a remix competition of the track “Bell” of Mha Iri like a year ago. I just used the vocals of Bell, but the rest of the track was my own creation. I didn’t win the contest, but I reached the short list, so it was a little bit sad to forget about the track because I just knew that it had a lot of potential. That’s why I changed the vocals from “Bell” to “Embrace”.
RMH:
You’ve recently collaborated with NIVIRO on “XTC in My Bed.” How did this collaboration come about, and what was the creative process like?
LUNA LUCCI:
Yes indeed! Tim Peeters aka NIVIRO is my best friend since ages, so that’s why we thought it was fun to collaborate. I was already working on ‘XTC In My Bed’, but when he heard it, he had a lovely melody idea and some cool percussion grooves and stuff. That’s how this ended as a collab, and I’m very proud of the result.
Also, because NIVIRO is just an insane producer, it was really inspiring for me to see his producing methods.
RMH:
Since founding Sound Control Academy in 2020, you’ve been mentoring the next generation of DJs and producers. What inspired you to start the academy, and what’s been the most rewarding part of teaching?
LUNA LUCCI:
I studied Music Management at college, and during my study, I was already doing some freelance work at Villa Basta, a sort of creative place where you can learn a lot like DJ’ing, producing, singing…
That’s where I was already teaching kids and teenagers some DJ-skills. I really liked that job a lot, and it’s a great job to combine with my own career, so that’s why I had the idea to launch my own DJ- and producer school after my study.
The most rewarding part of teaching is seeing some students reaching really big stages all over the world. Redx was my first “project”, and now he has already played at festivals like Tomorrowland and clubs abroad in Spain, The Netherlands, France, Turkey…
RMH:
You’ve played at numerous gigs over the years. Are there any standout performances that you consider pivotal moments in your career?
LUNA LUCCI:
For me, every gig is lovely because I just love to share my tracks, vibes and DJ’ing with a crowd. But if I really need to point out some moments, I can say that I really loved my performances at Tomorrowland, ANAYA, Ibiza and Amsterdam Dance Event.
RMH:
Looking back, you started DJ’ing at just 17 with a more commercial style. How has your journey from experimenting in the studio to establishing your current sound shaped you as an artist?
LUNA LUCCI:
When I was 17, I just wanted to play every style in a commercial way, because at that time, I was going to a lot of parties where people just really liked pop songs and stuff. And because I just wanted to start as a DJ, for me, the most easy way to get some bookings was to play this allround style. Also, because I started producing as well, but I really had no clue which style I preferred the most.
During the years, my producing style in the studio changed from pop to tech house. That was the time I created my alter ego called “Luna Lucci”, because “Severe” was my commercial name and I didn’t want that people were confused about my style.
Half a year after the launch of Luna, the covid pandemy hit hard and everything went in lockdown. During that time, I spent a lot of time in the studio and my style evolved from tech house to some harder tech house… to some harder kicks and basslines… and after a while, I was realizing that I was making techno instead of tech house.
So after the worst part of the covid pandemic, I re-launched “Luna Lucci” as a techno artist. But because I started my producing story with pop music and tech house, I really like to use these elements in my tracks.
RMH:
Congratulations on joining Inner Circle Agency! How do you feel this step will help elevate your career, and what are you most excited about as part of their roster?
LUNA LUCCI:
Thank you! I’m really happy with this step in my career, because I never had a bookings agent or stuff like that. I was just trying to have some bookings on my own, what kinda worked in Belgium, but what was really hard to find abroad. And because I’m more than excited to play in countries like Germany and Spain and stuff, Inner Circle Agency is just the perfect match!
RMH:
If you could DJ on another planet, which one would it be and what would the vibe be like?
LUNA LUCCI:
I think the moon, because it’s already in my name and I really like to play some dark sets haha!
RMH:
What’s next for Luna Lucci? Are there any upcoming projects, collaborations, or performances you can tease for your fans?
LUNA LUCCI:
The first thing coming up now is the release of “Embrace” on Rave Me Hard (so excited!). Later this year, a collab together with D-Devils (known from ‘The 6th Gate’) is scheduled for release, and in March, my EP will be out as well.
Besides that, I have my own project called “Moonlight Techno” , and the 5th of April, the first edition will be in my hometown in Belgium! Feel free to join me there (:
