RMH:
Hey Luca, welcome to Rave Me Hard! We’re thrilled to have you here and talk with you. Let’s start by talking about your upcoming remix for HEX’s “Firestarter.” What was your vision for this remix, and how did you bring it to life while keeping the raw power of the original intact?
Luca Agnelli:
Ciao guys, thank you for having me! When I heard for the first time the vocal and the term “Firestarter”, a light went on inside me, I had everything very clear from the very beginning, I could give more power to this voice, adding elements that would accentuate it even more, and would enhance his energy and his significance in the dancefloor. In just a few days, the remix came to life.
RMH:
Were there any specific moments in the remixing process where you thought, “This is it - this is the direction I want to go”?
Luca Agnelli:
I always like to do so much break in my tracks so as to create a continuous rollercoaster of emotions inside the track, and while I was building the second break and I inserted my melody on the first kick after the build-up, I said: “Okay, this is it!”.
RMH:
Your productions are known for their raw energy. How do you keep evolving your sound while ensuring your tracks stay dancefloor-ready?
Luca Agnelli:
During my career I have mostly produced dancefloor-oriented tracks, because I always want to see the people having energy from my music, and while I am producing in studio, I create them thinking to the reactions and sensations of the crowd.
This way of thinking about the dancefloor is something that characterized me on all artistic sides, from the tracks that I produce, to the music that I play in the gigs.
RMH:
Hard techno is having a big moment, especially in Italy. How do you see your role in shaping the scene with tracks like this?
Luca Agnelli:
Tracks like this are the naturally evolution of my sound and they reflect what I like to do, like always. This mine sound evolution begins years ago, before that the hard techno scene grew in popularity in Italy, where someone initially didn’t support my music evolution, then over time it was also appreciated by the general public till it led to the results visible to everyone that we have today.
RMH:
What’s your process for staying inspired and motivated when working on high-energy tracks? Do you have any rituals or routines?
Luca Agnelli:
I often start tracks while on the road, most of the time flying on the planes to come back at home from the gigs, because I always think about the possible tracks that I would have liked to play the night before but didn’t have.
I have not special rituals but since I live in Tuscany in a special place on the hills, sometimes I go out in the nature to refresh my mind walking with my dog.
RMH:
If aliens landed and asked you to DJ for their party, what’s the first track you’d play?
Luca Agnelli:
This is a nice question, my last track “Ministry of GASSE”! :)
RMH:
Beyond “Firestarter,” what’s next for you in 2025? Any new releases, projects, or surprises fans should look forward to?
Luca Agnelli:
I’m also working on my All Night Long series around the world.
I have ready a collab track with one of the most important and influential Italian rapper.
This year also some tracks of mines will appear in the Italian TV series “Blocco 181” soundtrack.
