Kusok: once you get into music production, you see no way out...
Rave Me Hard is happy to welcome the co-founder for a little chat. Please, welcome, Kusok!

Kusok is a female DJ & Producer currently based in Barcelona, Spain.
Starting her journey into electronic music as a club kid, it didn’t take long for the young producer to find talent inand become involved in the industry.

Since 2018 Kusok has been mixing on the tables and her progress has naturally evolved into multi-genre productions. While the DJ’s top genre is techno, Kusok plays in the sand of other genres often.

We talked to Olly about her upcoming release with Slive "Nocturnal Animal" and other projects. Let's dig right into that!
RMH:
Hi Olly! How are you? Where are you at the moment?
Kusok
Hi love! I am good, thanks! At my home in Barcelona.
RMH:
How did you first get started in the music industry, and what led you to pursue a career in music?
Kusok
Well it’s been along time since then but as lots of other people, I’ve been partying for years and eventually realized that I wanna be the DJ and not in front of the DJ. Regarding my productions, once you get more into music production, you see no your way out of here haha
RMH:
"Nocturnal Animal" features a unique blend of electronic and acoustic elements, creating a truly immersive soundscape. Could you tell us more about your creative process?
Kusok
I normally start with the drums and little by little add other instruments. The idea can come from synths, vocals or samples. I’m not limiting myself. In ‘Nocturnal Animal” the synth are the main feature.
RMH:
Collaboration is often a complex process, with creative differences and personalities at play. How did you and Slive navigate these challenges while working on "Nocturnal Animal," and what strategies did you use to ensure a successful collaboration?
Kusok
Well, we have a long term friendship with Slive, so we understand each other very well. We experimented a lot with different sounds, rhythms, and synths before achieved the desire sound.
Also, we had so much fun recording vocals - you can hear it in the track “Why Do I Rave?
RMH:
The music industry is constantly evolving, with new technologies and platforms emerging. How have you adapted to these changes over the course of your career, and what do you see as the most significant challenges and opportunities facing musicians today?
Kusok
I think when you’re inside of the industry, the transition happens itself. You adapt one way or another. But it comes to you anyway.
As for the new challenges - definitely AI and music. The humanity should find a way to use AI tools for its benefits and not to make basic tracks imitating someone’s voice in them.
RMH:
Are there any particular artists or musicians who have influenced your work?
Kusok
Kobosil, Eric Prydz, Nina Kraviz, Hector Oaks, Dax J, Vladimir Dubyshkin.
RMH:
Looking ahead, is there something else you’d like to share with us?
Kusok
Stay tuned with Rave Me Hard and follow Kusok and Rave Me Hard socials for the updates.
And of course, listen to Nocturnal Animal :)
