DØGMA: We wanted to design something that reflects our lifestyles and personalities - rough around the edges and always being up for pushing limits
We are happy to welcome our today's guests, DØGMA!

DØGMA combine flavours from all different genres with the main ingredient being Techno.

The duo situated in the north of England have taken the scene by storm since their recent rebranding and have began to conquer most major cities up and down the UK.

We talked to the talents about the concept of DØGMA and their experience within the industry. Find out more below!
RMH:
Greetings and welcome to Rave Me Hard! It's great to have both of you here! Could you share with us the essence of DØGMA: What does DØGMA signify, and how did you develop the concept behind it?
DØGMA:
DØGMA's concept came from desperation to break into a musical path with no restrictions or boundaries. The DØGMA name signifies our ability to do absolutely anything - whenever we want to. Creating art with the main goal of being something that we're excited about, not caring about fitting into specifications.
RMH:
Your rebranding seems to have had a significant impact on your career. Can you tell us more about the inspiration and process behind DØGMA’s new identity?

DØGMA:
Through the process of rebranding into DØGMA, we wanted to design something that reflects our lifestyles and personalities - rough around the edges and always being up for pushing limits (and our luck). Both of our upbringings, lifestyles and environments has had a huge impact on who we are and we think DØGMA encapsulates us perfectly. We wanted to build something that wasn't just about the music, but a expansive project that you can immerse yourself in and most importantly, relate to.
RMH:
DØGMA is often described as a fusion of different musical genres with techno at its core. How do you seamlessly integrate these diverse influences into your music?
DØGMA:
Once you break free from the mainstream sounds it becomes quite easy to curate a set, rather than just playing good tunes. We play on four decks when we can which helps us unlock that potential. We have always listened to a multitude of different genres, not just because we like it , but it opens up new ideas. We never focus on one sound. We spend every weekend experiencing all styles of events and shows that the UK has to offer which has widened our horizons and helps us prepare fresh and interesting set lists. This doesn't just stop at electronic music either. An example of this is sampling Tempa T's vocal from one of his prominent tunes 'Next Hype' and pairing that with Amazingblaze's 'Clube mate' , fusing grime MCing into Techno. Another is blending Joy orbisons 'Flight FM' with Astroid boys 'Rinsa', we also do this in the studio with our newest unreleased project 'Attention seeker', which samples an old hardcore band called 'Warhound'. It brings a fresh energy into our techno.

RMH:
Having garnered support from influential figures like Rebekah, Lee Ann Roberts, and Theo Nasa, how has this acknowledgment impacted your creative process and approach to music production?
DØGMA:
In all honesty, it hasn't really. We have huge respect for these artists and would love continuous support from them. But DØGMA is an evolution - we don't plan on always keeping the same sound, so with this being said, they might hate our next tracks but that isn't to say someone else wouldn't love it.

RMH:
As artists from the north of England, how has your local scene influenced your music and career? Do you find that the culture and atmosphere of your hometown play a role in your sound?

DØGMA:
From the first event we experienced, we both fell in love with the idea of being part of the techno scene up here. Although we both now live in separate cities, the passion of wanting to move from the dancefloor to behind the decks remains the same. We both still put in work on our own accord to build connections and network separately, which benefits us in that we can cover both Newcastle +
Manchester to get our sound heard. The techno scene in Newcastle did take a dive coming out the back of the covid lockdowns, but in recent months has had a new lease of life with brands like Second Speed, Raw Cuts, Full Force & loads more putting Newcastle back in the spotlight where it deserves to be. Manchester on the other hand continues to flourish with events of all genres - the main brands here being Teletech and HOL who have monopolised the scene and create an experience like no other. We're always surrounded by excellent DJs, producers and brands on both sides. They drive us to thrive in such a talented and culturally rich environment.
RMH:
What has been your most memorable performance to date, and what made it stand out for you?

DØGMA:
We have had a lot of unbelievable nights under our old alias, but since the creation of DOGMA we would have to say our debut set at The Cause in London was so memorable. The crowd was absolutely exceptional and we felt amazing being able to play our new music for the first time and having a great response from it. Hostile Takeover really share our vision of not sticking to a genre or label. They fit with our style perfectly and we couldn't be more grateful.
RMH:
If your music was a flavor of ice cream, what would it be and why?

DØGMA:
Turkey hill dairy - Mystery flavour. You don't know what you'll get.
RMH:
Looking ahead into the future, what aspirations do you hold for DØGMA in the upcoming year? And what can your fans anticipate from your forthcoming projects and live shows?

DØGMA:
Without giving too much away, we have a book of ideas and projects that were really excited to showcase. Everything from new music to big scale shows and huge artistic visions being brought to life // It's the year of the dog.
