Skatman's latest release showcases his mastery in revitalizing and rejuvenating music from the past. In his album titled "Rewarped," the Tunisian-born producer, DJ, and label head skillfully combines jacking house and melodic techno with old school hip-hop samples, seamlessly bridging different musical eras. Skatman, also known as Aziz Haddad, explains that the term "Warp" alludes to the process of audio warping used to stretch the vocals, while the prefix "Re" signifies the reuse or repetition of elements, resulting in a fresh and futuristic sound.

Two tracks from the album, "Don't Give a Fuck" and "I Used To," introduce the central theme of "Rewarped" by transforming old school vocals into a new and forward-thinking form. "Don't Give a Fuck" combines an Ad-Rock quotable with pounding industrial synths, while "I Used To" blends Apathy's '00s hip-hop classic with atmospheric techno, creating an immersive sonic experience.

The track "Funkadelic," featured on Innervisions' "Secret Weapons Part 15" compilation, pays homage to the old school while bringing a contemporary twist. Haddad skillfully merges crisp, energetic drums and punchy deep house elements with cosmic sampladelic energy, paying tribute to the pioneers of funk.

On "Oldskool," Haddad delves into a melodic techno fever dream, unfolding over five minutes of tight minimal grooves and mesmerizing snares. Meanwhile, "Optical Illusion" and "What You Gonna Do" delve into hypnotic kicks and electro-inspired machine funk, traversing through different decades and showcasing Haddad's diverse musical influences.

"Rewarped" follows Skatman's previous releases, including the "Superstitious Thoughts" EP in 2022, released via his own label Cognitive Prophecy (previously known as Scatcity), and the collaborative track "Manus in Mano" with Ikaro Grati. His contributions to Innervisions include tracks like "What is Real" for the compilation "Dixon & Âme Present Limbo" in 2020, as well as contributions to Innervisions' "Secret Weapons" series over the past three editions.
